Mission

Riverdale Church exists to make disciples who make disciples.

Riverdale Church designs and equips people in being a disciple of Jesus by teaching and inviting people to believe in Jesus; to be with Jesus; to become like Jesus; and to do what Jesus did.

Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Beliefs

We are proud to be part of the Assemblies of God, a global fellowship of churches committed to the mission of reaching the world for Jesus.
  • The Bible: The Scriptures are inspired by God, authoritative, true, and sufficient for everyday life.
  • God: There is one true God, revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (the Trinity).
  • Jesus Christ: Jesus is both fully God and fully man. He is the only man to live a sinless life, died for our sins, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will physically return.
  • Fall Of Man: Humanity, though originally good, fell into sin, resulting in physical and spiritual death.
  • The Salvation Of Man: Redemption comes only through faith in Jesus Christ as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Through repentance and faith, we are justified by grace and receive eternal life.
  • Sanctification: Sanctification begins at salvation and is a lifelong process of becoming more like Jesus. No believer is perfect, but all believers are called to pick up their cross daily and follow after him.
  • The Return Of Christ: Jesus will return for His Church at a time unknown to us. There will be final judgment, and believers will live eternally with God.
  • The Church: The Church is the body of Christ, called to seek and save the lost and carry out His mission.
  • The Holy Spirit: All believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation and can experience the baptism with the Holy Spirit, empowering them for service.
  • The Gifts Of The Spirit: All spiritual gifts mentioned in Scripture are still active today and are given according to God’s will to build up the Church.
  • Healing: God still divinely heals according to His will. We trust Him both in healing and in His sovereignty.
  • All People: Every person, regardless of ethnicity, age, or background, is made in God’s image and is to be loved and valued.
  • Marriage: Marriage is a lifelong, committed relationship between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s relationship with the Church.
  • Sexuality: Sexuality is part of God’s design and is to be expressed only within biblical marriage. Gender is fixed based on biological sex, not fluid based on feelings. It is based on God’s design at birth.

  • Hope: We believe Jesus is the answer for all those who are in need of restoration and new life.
  • Honor: We obey God and live in the right order with His Word, His Church, and His creation.
  • Joy: We celebrate lives transformed by Jesus and have fun doing it!
  • Community: We are a community on mission, doing life together and making room for more to join us.
  • Generational: We value every generation and believe faith is passed from one to the next.
  • Stewardship: We recognize that God has entrusted us with His gifts, and we faithfully use our time, talents, and treasures to glorify Him and serve others.
