TwoNine Youth is centered around two basic principles: Fellowship and Mission.
Our Fellowship DNA is all about hanging out together, studying the Bible together, and simply doing life together. As our relationships strengthen, that feeds into the second aspect of who we are: mission. Mission is all about discipling each other, reaching our community, and impacting the world in the name of Jesus Christ.
Our youth services during the school year are every week on Wednesday nights from 7:00 until 8:20pm. They are a fun-filled night of worship, games, and Christ-centered messages that are relevant to teenagers today.
Our High School life groups take place on Tuesday nights at 7pm. Girls and guys meet in homes to dive into Scripture together chapter by chapter and strengthen their relationships with each other. Contact Pastor Kyle at firstname.lastname@example.org for details and home addresses.
Salt is our Middle School Life Group that meets on Sunday mornings at 11:00am in Room 4 at the church. Salt is a curriculum based group that focuses on diving into the Word in tangible ways and building relationships with other students.
The Big 4
There are four events throughout the year that we believe are at the core of our ministry.
1. Minnesota Youth Convention (October)
MYC is a 3 day event during MEA break down in Rochester, Minnesota. Thousands of students from across the state gather to rally around a common cause: Jesus. Students then leave challenged to raise money for Speed the Light, our partner missions organization that works to supply missionaries around the world with vehicles to reach the communities they are in, as well as fighting human trafficking globally and building wells in areas that don't have clean water.
2. Winter Retreat (February)
Winter Retreat is our in-house weekend retreat experience. The retreat takes place right here at church, and students stay in host homes overnight. Many events are great for building relationships but can put a strain on the budget; this event provides the retreat experience without the financial strain on families!
3. Mission Trips (June)
Our biggest and most impactful event is our yearly mission trip. Whether it's Coon Rapids or Costa Rica, Minneapolis or Mazatlan, students' faith grows exponentially when they step outside their comfort zone and are open to God's Will for their lives. Our mission trips typically take place in June, with sign ups beginning in January.
4. Summer Camps (July/August)
Summer Camps are a week-long camp up in Alexandria, Minnesota, with our Junior Highers attending the third week of July and Senior Highers the first week of August. Students experience amazing worship, world-class speakers, and experience God in a way they never have before, all while immersed in 24/7 fellowship!
Our summers are event oriented, fellowship focused, and jam packed with fun! We do not meet on Wednesday nights in the month of June, but are back on following the 4th of July. Most of our Wednesday nights turn into massive game nights, such as Slip n' Kick, Nerf Wars, Ultimate Frisbee... all culminating with our famous Mudpit!
